Re: Big springs
The course is 9 miles long. Lap times for fast guys should be 25 minutes or so. I may not be the best one to describe (slightly bias); maybe someone else could add some comments too….
Some short rocky sections (there is a rock quarry next to the property), mostly wooded with open and flowing sections. There is a small EX portion that has always been a spectator and rider favorite. All of the EX sections are very doable. The course was plotted out with safety, fun and rider friendliness for all age and skill levels in mind. The course is designed to make a positive impact on first time riders and riders of all ages and skills levels. The trails are groomed so there are very little braking or accelerations bumps. Most of the corners are banked and bermed-up. This is not the hardest or most challenging course in the series but I believe that is one of the most enjoyable. That being said…..I have added a couple of more challenging sections that will run through some creek sections. They will be harder and shorter than the easier and longer trails…….
There will be open riding on Sat. 12-5pm $10. As I type this Tracy Freeman (dirt artist and track builder of the stars) is revamping and adding to the rider friendly MX track.
(BTW: Big Springs has been voted Track of the Year two times……)
Come check it out

Re: Big springs
Lots of youtube videos out there of the track from years past:

As Perry said, this is a great place to go racing! Not to mention the fact that you can be out there all weekend and ride, it should be a great time.

Re: Big springs
Looks like the weather is holding, planning on the BOK tomorrow. For my old bones, the MX and TT are just like "old times". Maybe my new KTM will like the woods better than the heavy Honda. Be Safe, Don
