The speed average is a really good guideline and works most of the time. If the OA winner is really laying it down then everyones SA will be slower while if he is mailing it in then everyone will have inflated SA. Sometimes there needs to be a little grey matter applied. If a rider can finish in the top of a class several rows ahead of them then that rider might be in the wrong class.

F-five is right. We have raced other series where the only rule is you move when everyone growls at you. This is by far the fairest system I have seen. There are incidents that occur every year that just can't be foreseen. We all hate the one time wonder that shows up and blows up a class.

100 AA
200 A
300 B
400 C Adv.
500 C Vet Adv.
600 C
700 C Vet
800 Sportsman
900 Sport Vet
1000 Trailrider
1100 Junior

Both C Adv. classes have the same percentage. Both C classes have same percentage. Both Sport classes have same percentage. The only difference is the 40 and over (Vet). And this would be the perfect time to realign the class numbers to fall in order.

Just a thought.

You realize that bowhunter just deleted the class of trailrider which is not only our adult beginner class, but at a lot of races, our biggest class. Not very beginner friendly.

Sounds perfect to me too!! Just make the C Vet and C Vet Adv classes 30+ instead of 35+ and it's perfect!!

I see two problems here...

The first and most important one is the fact that the Trailrider Class always winds up with well over 100 class members over the year, so every new class member past #1099 will have a Junior Class number thus causing confusion, and aggravating the Scoring Folks who have enough headaches already.

This can be easily solved by having the Juniors run a 1200 number series.

The other problem is that the Class should be called Vet 40, not Sport Vet  .

Has anybody considered replacing the C Vet Advanced class with a B Vet class? Just a thought on a name change... Seems like there are too many "C" classes
