New one hour just for fun class (trial)

#1 Post by Iamdanjohnson » Thu Mar 06, 2014 2:52 pm

New class 2014

Simply because it has been requested and suggested FMHSC will be trying out a new class for 2014.

All of this is still in the working stages so if you have feedback let me know. I think I will have to play with the start time but still don’t know where will be best.

Here are the key points:
Only race for one hour using the AA start time(maybe one hour actual)
Riders MUST leave the track after the one hour race time and it will be the rider’s responsibility to keep track of the time
Will not receive trophies
Will not receive points
Will not have speed brackets
Will not have any age restrictions
Numbers will start with 1200
The row will line up behind the 900’s for the start ( one minute ahead of the JR’s)
Riders MUST get over for faster riders approaching
Entry fee will be $25
Results/lap times will be posted online (still working on that part since it does not carry points)
No points carried over if you change to points class
Will be a ‘write in” on the sign up cards as I already printed them for 2014

Can be used by anyone for various reasons. Some guys don’t think they can last two hours. This will let those guys build up to the full two hours. Some people are brand new and just want to try their first race with no pressure and a shorter period of time. This will also allow them to get their percentile figured out (by the way, you just need one good lap to figure it). Some people just want to trail ride at new locations. Signing up will allow the rider to ride all of practice and one hour of the race. Some people just want to race their buddies and be out of the way of season points racers.

It's all good!

This is a great idea! I have a couple of friends interested in trying it out, but are scared they won't be good enough for the trail rider class. This would be a good way of judging new comers, and also getting a feel for what a race is actually like.

Jeff are you and me the only ones left on here from the 2004 700 club? Anybody from our time graduated to the Senior class?
