2011 ktm 350 sx-f ? Could it be used in the woods

I have a chance to buy a 11 ktm 350 sx-f but i don't know if it will be a comfortable choice to race in the woods. Please give me some feed back or personal experience.

I rode the 2012 XC-f 350 and it was great. I had John at MOTO PRO suspension set it up for woods along with the REKLUSE clutch. The SX suspension will be a bit harsh but if you plan to ride any MX then you will have a great dual purpose bike. The other brands (YAMAHA, HONDA) don't cater to the woods riders like KTM so those riders are using the YZ or CR bikes. Buy what you can afford and ride to have fun. One advantage the SX, YZ, etc.... have over the XC-W is after tight tree or rocky sections you can get back up to speed very quickly. Disadvantage is on long open fast sections those bikes are limited on speed. You can change the sprocket set up depending on the course to "TUNE" the bike for a desirable speed. I hope this makes sense.... Good luck

I raced my 2011 350 SXF in a few FMHSC races. It was set up for moto but it worked good. Supension was stiff but you could fix that easy. Put a XCF tank on it and you should be good to go. Good luck.. Ride Orange

I ran a 250 sxf and loved it...minus not having the majic button! Ihave a three gallon acerbis tank that will fit the 350 also ($50). I personally like my suspension set on the stiff side and could run wide open with anyone in my class. You might shift a little more than the xc guys though!!

Nothing wrong with an moto bike in the woods. Some prefer the tighter gear spacing and livelier power deliver.

I have had several motocross and woods bikes. I prefer the moto versions, even with the stiff suspension.
