Melvern race information

#1 Post by Iamdanjohnson » Tue Oct 13, 2015 9:21 am

Free camping Saturday night. Make sure you pay your gate fee to someone at some point. Even if it is at sign up. This is very important that the landowner feels it is worth having all of us running all over his property.

Open riding Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 only. The EMT leaves at 5:00.

Great family stuff happening in Melvern and all of it raising money for their community so go if you can. My favorite is the Haunted Trail. Here is a cut and paste from their community calendar...

Melvern’s Halloween Costume Parade, Soup, Ham and Bean Supper and Haunted Trails!
On Saturday October 24th the Melvern Pride is having a Halloween costume parade at the Melvern Community Center at 4:30 p.m. for the ages preschool – 5th grade followed by a hayride for those kids that dressed up. All kids 3rd grade and younger going on the hayrack ride must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

From 5-6:30 p.m. Pride will be hosting a soup or ham and bean supper for a freewill offering that helps maintain the MCC building.

The Friends of the Trail will have their Haunted Trails on October 24th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m North of the High School football field. There is a free hayrack ride that will begin at the Melvern Community Center at 6:45 p.m. The hayrack will take riders to the haunted trails and back to the community center. You do not have to get off at the haunted trails. The cost of the haunted trails is $4 per person and there will be light refreshments at the end of the trail. Hope to see you in Melvern on October 24th for a spooktacular evening!

Hey Dan, is there going to be a "Fun" class at the Melvern race, or does that type of class originate if enough people show up to run one?

From all the talk and jibber of people around the area this might be the largest 'fun class' turn out of the year!! There are at least 4 that I know of that are signing up....now for a couple of inches of rain in the next two weeks!
Thanks to Big Time Bail Bonds, One way custom paint, flatland Racing, Factory Skid mark, Dragon Alliance, Duro tires and Protaper. And our newest backer Cooper Construction.

Fun is always an option at every event. $20 entry, one hour, no points, scoring, or awards. I actually do post the results just so someone could see a lap time if they wanted.
