Big E told me he had gone down, what a huge bummer. I think it was his first time back after his last big get off I didn't know it was quite that bad, heal up soon Bob!

Re: GET WELL BLAZIN BOB CARLSON
Tuesday update: my dad is in good spirits, he spent all of Sunday night in traction, and after 4 hours of surgery yesterday afternoon he is starting the healing process. The surgeons said everything went well as far as the rod, alignment, length, etc. he will be in a "turtle shell" brace for a few months to let the vertebrae heal, and will be back up and going soon. We would like to thank Perry, DJ, the paramedics and everybody that put on the event for helping out. Also a get well soon to Chad Cooper, who also broke a femur and ended up in the same hospital.

Re: GET WELL BLAZIN BOB CARLSON
Josh,
I don't know your dad but I hate to see anyone get hurt. Unfortunately this sport obviously carries with it a certain amount of risk. I experienced a serious injury myself back in June of 2013 and know how much it sucks. I am convinced that if it were to happen to me again my wife would have my trailer, truck, bike and gear all sold by the time I got out of the hospital! Currently Toman has agreed to hide my stuff in his outbuilding should it happen. Although I am not convinced it would work.
I am glad things look good for your dad and I am sure all of the FMHSC family are prying for a speedy recovery for him.
Good luck and Get well soon to Both Bob and Chad.

Re: GET WELL BLAZIN BOB CARLSON
Thanks Gibbs, it means a lot to my whole family. He is getting up (with assistance) and moving around with a walker. The fractures in his back were considered minor compared to his femur! luckily, they were compression fractures which are supposed to heal on their own. The femur, on the other hand, is what's giving him such a long recovery time, due to it being broken in two places and the breaks being jagged. Currently, he's in rehab every day and is well on his way to recovery. It's a long process, but not an unfamiliar one!
