Vigil City (Camp MO PO) 8-28-16

#1 Post by Gibber » Fri Aug 19, 2016 1:41 pm

Hey Everybody,

There are a few of us that will not be attending Thurman. In lieu racing Thurman, Todd Sexton is inviting anyone interested to come down to Virgil City for the day. Remember, Virgil City was race of the year in 2015 and although it was a ball buster this year it is a really cool place to ride.

I am guessing Todd will be there by 9:00am. Come on down and have a fun day of riding if your not going to race Thurman.

Directions are below.

Virgil City, MO: From Kansas City: take 71 Hwy. south to Nevada, MO, take US 54 east 15.3 miles to HH Hwy, south 6.5 miles then west to stay on HH, east 2.5 miles then north on 2850 Rd for 3/4 miles. GPS Warning: if you put in the coordinates it will bring you in from the west and the last several miles are somewhat narrow gravel roads. The directions given are the better roads to access the property.

Location : GPS: 37.78287, -94.11721 (Written directions are better)
Contact : Todd Sexton 816.797.6904

Thurman is a series race and this is a series site. Wish you could make it to Thurman, Steve. I am going to try something a little different at Thurman this year. I am trying to put together a potluck dinner on Saturday night for anyone that is interested. For sure I will be bringing 24 pounds of Boston Butt and I am considering bringing chicken quarters and some ribs. If I do this how many racing families would be interested in attending a potluck dinner Saturday night at Thurman?

That's a cool idea. You should start a new post for it though. people wont be looking at this one for that idea.

I'm just not a fan of Thurman. Maybe we should do something at Chanute. Seems like a lot of folks camp there?

Ryan I didn't know you where from Boston. Keep your butt comments to yourself.
Its no difference than myself going to Walters Ranch instead of racing.

Gibbs I plan on making my way to Virgil. I'll let you know if I find more riders to go.

How is Virgil city looking? Not sure if it was a gully washer down there too. Would like to make it out Sunday but not at the expense of a 2 hr bike wash or tearing up a great track. Hope it looks good down there and is ready to go!

OKAY!

Since everything else is rained out and Virgil City (Camp Mo Po) can be ridden rain or shine, I guess I will see you all at Virgil City tomorrow!? 8)

Todd "SAYS" he is bringing hot dogs so I am bringing pasta salad and my famous "PICO D'Gallo" to make Chicago Dogs. Be sure to bring something to add to the mix. I am sure we will be doing a little trail maintenance as well. Mostly we will just be riding our rear fenders off!

See you all tomorrow!
