I just picked up a good deal out of Tulsa and am getting it ready to sell. It is a 2001 KTM 250SX. Based on what I see, when examining the frame on it (lack of wear, still paint in areas where it rubs off fast, and no signs of ever being touched up), it is a low hour bike. I purchased it from the father of a kid who just got his pro sponsorship from KTM - new 250SX-F and new 450SX-F. This was the young man's freestyle bike before he decided to get serious about motocross (yes, it has been upside down a few times). He blew the rear shock on it, and it has been sitting. The top end is also off, as the Dad was planning to put a new piston/rings on but never got around to it. Bottom looks/feels good, so nothing needed there. The piston is fine, so I am just going to do rings. The cylinder has no scratches or dings. I have not looked at head, but I assume it is also ding-free. I will do rings, gaskets, a correct year/model series Ebay rear shock, oil change, etc. Detailed pics of cylinder wall will be taken next week, before I do assembly. The Dad was/is the mechanic on the bikes and vouched for it being a solid bike/engine. I buy a LOT of bikes, and you can just tell good guys like this. But like anything, you decided for yourself. It will be ready by next weekend. You pay. We ride an hour on my hilly property. If you feel something is not right, you get your money back... that simple.

Low use Geomax on rear and front, Excel wheels look original, but I find that hard to believe, since he did freestyle... there are no bends/flats/dings/dents on them, and the spokes are shiny (no rust). Fatty pipe, original silencer, no signs of oil leaks (must be something wrong)... am thinking dad is a pretty particular mechanic.

$1400
