When did this series start? Who one the overall in 1992? What ever happened to Tom Rodgers?, Mitchell Moore? or Jerry Moore?....have you ever wondered?

I know I am not the only one around who loves to read up on races gone by.
Checkered Flag News and Racer X (when it was paperback - yes Virginia - paperback) are my favs.

I raced MX in the 80's. For my first HS, I attended a race back in 1995-96 in Carbondale and it was dusty, imagine that. And the owners pre-race meeting was must-see event, imagine that. That dude is pure and proud - and I love that in him. KTM's were white - but turning sunkiss-orange then. Everyone had trucks or El Caminos with bikes in the bike. Don't remeber any RV's. Hot Dogs were served out of old camper. I had red DeBruzer on my bars (remember those?). Good times. Some big cat on a KLX (what was his name?) was doing a lot of winning and so was a dude on a XR400, I think Davis was his name and he went on to do some Jr ISDE stuff before he broke his back.

I know we have results from 2006-on.. But my point is that it would be really neat to have the Overall top-10 or 20 posted for every year of the series since it started to get some bench racing going on this site. Sooner or later we will walk away from this sport and it would be neat if we had something to let others know we were here and what was accomplished.

I am not pushing this on Flip or Dan - but one of us needs to help out this site in this regard - maybe a winter project for someone. I know I would enjoy reading it and I am sure others would too.

Good idea. That would be cool if some guys could research/compile a chronological history, as they remember it, of the series and post it. It would be neat to read about the warriors that came before you and helped shape the series into what it is today.

Our series, the ‘Forward Motion Hare Scramble Championship’, began holding hare scrambles in the state of Kansas in 1979, at that time we were known as the ‘Kansas Hare Scramble Series’. Paul DiPasqual was one of the founding members. We have continued our events non-stop since that time. Our series split off from the western half of our state in 1994 and adapted our current name at that time. We also began holding races in Kansas and Missouri at that time. The next big step came in 2000 when Tammy Brooks launched her own website about and for the series at www.kansasoffroad.com. Because of the website, attendance at our events has been steadily growing at approximately ten percent per year. Currently we have an average attendance of about 140 riders. We have computer scoring and a second series information website: www.fmhsc.com Our computer program allows us to use the results from each race to create an index system to ensure that riders are in the correct class, we currently have 10 class divisions. The average attendance in each class is about 12 to 14 riders. We hold 14 races at eight or more locations each season. Our season is from March through November. We recognize the delicate balance between hard core race events and the need for a beginner friendly track. Our courses are challenging but offer alternate routes when necessary to ensure every entry can make it around. We want this to be a family event where everyone feels welcome and safe at all times. We try to keep our tracks and pits safe for all riders and spectators. Some tracks offer overnight camping. We hope you will come give us a try and become a part of the Forward Motion Family.

Here is what i know: Donnie blew up his knee I believe and decided to retire his boots. I see him chasing the sprint car series with his family on FB often. Cromwell is chasing his boys around the karting and BMX tracks of KS and MO. Still has a bike and threatens to ride it every now and again... Saw River Rat up at Millville racing moto this summer. Not sure about the other boyz. PS- Actually heard from Bad Chad Johnson today! Said he is married and about to have their first son any minute now. He is already looking for a strider bike for him and I'm sure he will be on a 50cc bike at 6 months old, knowing Chad. He is also threatening to get another bike and start riding again... We'll see...

When did you get involved with FMHSC?

One of the things that really was cool in my opinion was evryone helping BirdDog/BadDog back in his time of need. Has any one seen him or heard from him?

Also - who was the big guy on the KLX and that Davis dude?

Tom Rogers has been seen riding with Barry Harris although Tom doesn't ride as much as he used to. I knew how to ride but Barry and Tom worked with me and helped me become a racer...those two are patient and every time my speed would increse...so would they. Running with those guys and Flathed down at chadwick...all those weekends and winter day trips, stopping off at Smiths...wow what fun times. Got to work with Tom and cut the new trails next to Barry armed with a spray can on the far side of Merwin past the gate on the land owners side...thanks guys, you taught me the world about racing!

Bruce korblick won the overall in 94,96,97, Mike Kruger from cyclezone won it in 95{yea he actually rides} Tom Klimm got it in 98,I remember them days well .Only had 9 races a year and 4 locations,hand scoring,60 bikes was a good turn out! i started raceing in 92 but it wasnt called fowardmotion then, Bruce and mike dont even own bikes! What were the 4 locations back then? I sure C-Dale was one. I remember racing a couple times at Heartland Park, they had a HS track east of the drag strip. I also raced at New Strawn once. This was probably late '90's early '00's??

Carbondale ,westmorland,milford,perry, couple years at Randolf thats where vince Davis on the xr400 broke his jaw,had his back fused together when he was a little kid . Ive got videos of the series from the early 90s, River Rat on a wr500 & me on a 550 ktm 2 stroke!

Dang Sloppy - you deserve a medal for racing a 550 2-stroke in the woods.
Didn't the FHHS and the Missouri series have a combo race in Smithville once.
Was that the time it rained and rained and rained....
