Its the first time I have been able to make it to the Big Springs race, thanks to Perry and everyone involved it was a blast. Temperatures were perfect, course was a bit dry and dusty but thats racing!!

It was good to see Tclimber, Jay S., and many others, the senior class was stacked with 19 riders which is the fullest I think I've ever seen it.

I saw several riders with go pros on, and I'm looking forward to seeing some video on youtube..

CZ I was hoping you would have been there today to see how you like that new 300 in the woods

It was great seeing everyone today. I really enjoyed riding today. This was the first time on the new bike and it was awesome. I felt like I was in total control all the time, even on those rocky fast sections. I got a last place start (didn't do a practice lap so I didn't want to start in front). Followed riders in my class the whole first lap and finally moved up to 12th out of 19. Then I caught my Hero GoPro camera that was on top of my helmet on a low branch and the branch wouldn't give way and neither would the adhesive mount! I was literally pulled off the bike. Funny thing was that I did it again the same time on the next lap, but stayed on the bike. I really enjoyed the course because I like fast easy flowing courses with berms and loam (in places). The obstacle course with the logs and tires was fun and not too hard. I did three 30 minute laps very consistent, only 18 seconds difference between the slowest and fastest. I feel like I am going to be able to make a come back, but just taking it easy at first. I will try to post some video soon.

Jay this is how OldmanDave59 of the WFO Trailriders mounts his go pro under the visor. Looks quite a bit safer than having one sticking out on top of the helmet, unless of course you somehow lose a visor in the process

Good videos btw, thanks for posting

Race started off well, I got the holeshot but got passed by the #1 guy going into the woods, now #2 going in. Myself, the #1 guy and two 700 clubbers freight-trained the entire 1st lap and I went through scoring #4, 2nd lap was a little faster, thru scoring again at #4, lap #3 I crashed once and was a little slower, now #6 thru scoring, and that's when the REAL Crashfest began. I was trying to push too hard to pick up a spot or two and crashed 3x in quick succession on lap 4 and rang my bell a little. I pulled off the track and cooled down, then went back out because I wanted to finish the race but soon realized I better put this thing on the trailer and did. Sorry to the guys I crashed in front of as I know I held you up a bit. If I looked delusional, I probably was. I'm out of shape to carry a race pace for 2 hours but had a good time anyway. Thanks to PK and all who setup the track, it was a good one.

I also had branch gopro issues. I didnt get pulled off my bike but it tried to pull my helmet off. I need to come up with a safer mount. Thanks for the videos

If anyone would be interested in having my entire go pro footage, I'll make you a DVD and send it to you. I'd even send a blu-ray so you get hidef! Just pay my costs, like $3 for DVD and $5 for bluray. It's not the entire race but about 90 minutes. I do take paypal. email me at jstevenson411 @ att(dot)net.

I have rode Big Springs 2 times and this time was by far the best. The KTM XC-F350 was perfect and much easier to handle than that KLR650 I tried to bulldoze around the course last time! Thanks again to Perry and the crew for another home run of a course. WOOOOP!

I liked the course too... It was fun and flowing without too many surprises for a beginner like me. Much easier course on the Yamaha ttr250 than the KTM 450 I rode last year... and that made it a lot more fun! Unfortunately I wadded it up on the tt course on practice day and twisted my ankle so I couldn't ride the rest of the weekend... :(
