Are you too fast for your class?

I have been a little behind with move ups this year. I have made some phone calls and contacted several people about moving up. Take a look at yourself and see if you are finishing inside or within a couple of points above your class. If you are often finishing too fast, lets move on up. The rules say a total of 10 break out points but that doesnt always apply.(this can be found on the information page, then rules)

The best way to look at the percents is to go to the percents page and sort by class.

The magic formula is keeping it fun every week for everyone. When this is working correctly, anyone in your class can win on race day. Not just those same guys.

It is okay to look at others in your class and determine if they are way out. Dont email me about someone who is just a little to fast, someone has to win. But if you see someone way to far out, then maybe let me know. You might check the standing page to see if they have already moved up. You can tell if there number does not match the class. They have to remain in the previous class listings to hold the points or everyone would bump up at prior races.

Now is the time to move back down if you simply arent running with your class. There is no shame. Just keep the fun factor up and forget your ego!

We will have temp numbers available so dont worry about the either.

About the top 2 to four in the 600's, 800's, and 900's are ready to move up. Top four on the perctiles page, sorted by class that is. Not the top four in those classes necessarily. I may or may not have reached you yet.

The percentiles are a good guideline but they simply are not perfect enough to allow some wiggle room. Just running a split race allows the 600 to 1000 riders to ride longer than they would if all were grouped together. Depending on how things fall, this could make a difference. Very often the split races result in that 600 to 100 race having higher percentiles and I really dont know exactly what causes it. I may start running that race for exactly 1:54 instead of 2:00 to make that variable go away. I have resisted because I think it may complicate things more than fix things.

About 10 people have moved up from the 600, 800, and 900 class. After a couple more races we need to have everyone locked in so the final run for the championship is clear. Look yourself and others over and let me know if we need to move up or down. Get those work averages in.

If you moved up from my call or on your own and you need numbers, just tell the sign up ladies your situation and you dont have to pay for the temp numbers. I dont think there should be a penalty involved in moving to the right class. It is already going to cost you if you run preprinted numbers and have to make a change.

Thanks man, thats the goal.....! Just gotta keep it shinny side up, and keep learning every single race.

Actually a buddy of mine will be doing his first race this weekend with FMHSC, in the 900 class. So I wish him and everyone awesome safe race!

Ok you want a good race? Try this....Milford with perfect racing conditions, 7 mile loops, 2:00 show in October, Me on my Husky with racing fuel and clean air filter, Jaden on his bike with 2 flat tires, Macon on his bike with no handlebars...Now that's a tight race my man!
