Chanute Race

The pits and campground will be the same location (south pasture) as last year. I have it mowed, raked and baled and it looks like a golf course, hopefully it wont grow much in a week. For those camping, and if you like to fish remember a pole. The fishing is great, and I'm going to lose the pond on the north end, its clear and loaded with bass and crappie. The heavy rains ate away the dam, the next rain will take it out. The rains made the whole place grow up in dense vegetation. If your helping Wednesday evening, and you have a chainsaw bring it. The storms blew down several trees across the trail. There will be an ambulance staging on site on Sunday, and will only leave if they get a call. I have a couple of EMT's and a Physician's Assistant that is coming for both Saturday and Sunday just in case. Concessions will be provided by the local high school class of 2016. Should be great weather and the trail should be in very good shape. Come out and have fun.

Thanks,
Greg Taylor

I plan to be there.

Saturday is my birthday and I am planning to go to New Century to attend the airshow and see if I can treat myself to a ride on a vintage plane such as a Stearman biplane.

And of course Sunday, the coolest, most fun sport ever, Harescrambles! And it just so happens that I was born in Chanute, 60 years ago. Yes, this is a BIG one, LOL.
