2.11 gallons. Is this enough?

I probably should know the answer to this, but I don't, so I will humble myself and ask. I recently purchased a used 4 stroke, 06 KTM 450 exc. It has a 2.11 gallon tank. Will this be enough fuel to complete these hare scramble races? I know there is no way to know for sure until I give it a trial for that time and distance, but was wondering about experiences with similar models, etc. I plan to ride it for the first time at Big Springs and want to plan accordingly.

BTW, thanks to all of you guys for your input on helping me with the decision to by a KTM and which one. I was leaning towards a smaller cc or even a 2 stroke, but ran across this one and couldn't pass it up. I am very excited to race with it. The weight concern turned out to be relative to me. This 450 weighs about the same as the 01 xr250r I was riding. I am loving it and working to get it dialed-in and ready for next Sunday.

Thanks again,
Chad

I ran 2009 KX450F for three years and only ran out of fuel one time at Melvern. The KX only had a 1.6 gallon tank. I always topped it off after the practice lap, except that one time  (learned my lesson)
I ran it in the 800 and 900 class. I'm sure the faster guys would need to refuel sooner.
I would think you should be good with the 2.11 gal tank.

Good luck with the new scoot!

Well, I will be the lone dissenter, but Big Springs has a bunch of areas where you can really use some throttle and is typically a faster race. I would plan on keeping a can handy to pit and add some fuel

Fill your Hydropack with fuel instead of water and you will be good to go! LLLLOL!

Man, I'm running 2.9 gallons on a 2 stroke and I'm good. My buddy Todd had a 2008 530 with a stock tank and ran several races with no problem. I think you are good unless you are wicked fast!

Thats my 2.5 cents!!!

Chad, you should be fine at Big Springs with that amount of fuel.

BUT, if it makes you feel better  , have a nice, dry 1 gallon milk jug of gas available somewhere around scoring and let one of your injured Grand Classmates refuel you at the 1 hour mark, or 2 laps.... whichever comes first  .

Whoop!
