Lap counters / Lap timers

What are some of the riders using while riding? I have read that some riders use Garmin products made for runners, some with GPS, some which can monitor heart rates, or even super cheap stuff from eBay. I have been using a digital watch for a while and it has finally stopped working correctly. I am debating weather I should buy another watch or move up to something better.

As of now, I have come to two conclusions. Garmin at http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/threads/93112/
Or DRC at http://www.drcproducts.com/timer/d60-01-531/index.html

I think I will try the Garmin unless someone else can show me different. The auto lap is cool, nothing to push as the rider repeats the same area, and the heart rate verses MPH charting is awesome too! I think as long as I start in an area open to the sky and repeat it, I think it should work.

The garmin sounds sweet. Will it work in the trees?? Only one way to find out!

Sounds cool, looks like ebay has refurbished ones with warranty for $119.00.

I've got a lap timer app on my android phone. I have never messed with it much but it did work and it was free. Of course you will need a crash proof phone case. :D

I have a trail tech computer on my bike but can never remember to push the lap button when I go through scoring!
