I was thinking the same thing. 48 hours before the flag drops and crickets. Heck shredder is even silent. I would have thought with the long break guys would be ready to go. Any chance of running everyone together so we can get out of the heat sooner ? 2pm start is going to be brutal hot.

We are leaving Topeka around 9am tomorrow...hopefully to get setup before the heat index hits 110! I plan on riding that evening and will post on conditions down there!

I hope we don't run everyone together, I'd expect this one to be dusty (much like last year). If that is the case it will be more safe to have fewer riders on the track at a time, not to mention the speed differential between riders that would be on the track in the dust.

Otherwise, put on a new air filter and you'll be all ready to go for this one!

Jerry Edwards wife - Carrol past away this week. Carrol had a heart attack, massive and out of the blue - most unexpected. They have 6 children. Sara, Erin, Keith, Barbie, Carrie and Emma. Four of the children are still at home. They live in Colorado now. Carrol was 51 years old. Carrol's funeral is today in Kansas City, MO.

Jerry got me into this sport - He was #93 and I was #93.5. We both bought Honda's and went riding and signed up at a Forward Motion race and had a many many good times together. Our family's were very close.

I can usually try to make an entertaining story to raise the excitement level for an upcoming event - poke fun at myself or a situation but it's been a dark time at my house this week.

I just got off of the phone with Dan Johnson: He is thinking one minute per degree in temperature.

1st race tomorrow will be 84 minutes long.

2nd race of the day will be 90 minutes long.

*****IT'S OFFICIAL*****

We want everyone to come out and race, be safe and have a good time!

That's lame. Sucks to drive 3 1/2 hours to race 90mins. its always hot in August in Kansas.

Thanks Dan, that is an great call. Does anyone remember the huge water tank at Collins a few years back in July with guys ready to pour pitchers of water down your back if you stayed to the right and stopped. That was awesome maybe they could get something like that setup tomorrow. I don't care what anybody says about the 1 1/2 race safety is a huge factor with full gear in this kind of heat.
