Top FMHSC rider and overall A badass; Jared Shafer. When the races get gnarly he seems to take it up a notch.

Consistency paid off that's for sure. Moto 1 he got a decent start and finished in 8th. Moto 2 he had some issues with vision (roll-offs) and falling in a rutted out puddly mess. He finished 8th again.

Jared and I were looking at results and we had figured he was around 29th, but turns out he was inside the top 25.

We frantically got the bike, him, and his helmet ready for the night show. This time I told him to use my screen goggles with two tear offs for the start. He agreed and soon he was ready to play in the dark.

Something Special was were I stood and I was completely blown away at the top two (Ashburn and Fahringer). I scoped out a line for Jared and he executed it to near perfection. He did have to use some muscle and possibly my left hand holding his rear fender and bike just a bit, but he made it up all aspects of the hill with minimal time wasted.

Finishing 2 laps was enough to get him a 2nd place in moto 3 and 4th overall in A.

The course was surprisingly really good! The ozark soil shedded the water great, but the creeks were high and the grass track miserable.

All in all we had a great time. It was cold and wet, but very manageable with some Hot Hands.

Mission Accomplished.
