Jeff,
I'm an old "450" guy (not many know it).

There are two definite ways to ride those machines. Everyone that raced them knows what I mean. If you are young and a little bit (ok, a lot) ballsey, like Nick, you just let er eat and tear the earth up under your feet.

If you are more, like, say "me" and value your limbs and life, you ride it to the advantage that it is and let it pull you along. Sometimes at speeds you used to work hard on the 2-smoke, to maintain.

Weight is a factor at times; but, it is hard to deny the ease of riding a modern big thumper. ..and...there are some around. I know of one really choice one that might still be at Letko if Render didn't add it to his personal collection.
:D

I like my thumper. At my age (almost 48); it gives me a break from the slash and burn style I used to be good at and still keep some of those 16 year old B-riders in sight sometimes.

It's all good.....really.

Jeff, I have an '07 EXC450, (RFS) that is street legal from the factory and use it as a dual sport. I was never that big of fan of 4T's off road unless I was just trail riding at a "fun" pace. If I was trying to go fast and compete for 2 hours, I always liked the 2T's. I have over the last year had a chance to ride it quite a bit off road and have really come to like it but I have learned I have to ride it different than my 300 XCW to enjoy it. It is a little heavier and I don't think it turns quite as quick as the 300, but it's not a big difference. Sometimes I think it puts the power to the ground a little better than the 300. I like the lighter weight of the 2T and the easier maintenance requirements. I've owned three RFS 450's and they have all been bulletproof. Give one a try, I think you'd like it.

thanks for the replies I am looking at a few options I really like the look of the Huskys and they are supposed to be great bikes I am looking at a 450 and a 510 and have looked at a 450 mxc I am not really planning on racing real hard just cruising so I am sure they will not be ridden to anywhere near there potential so they should last for a long while has anyone else raced the husky 4ts
