Bring your helmet to sign up.
The property had a small bit of rain yesterday and then all rain is out of the forecast through next week. There is no dust and the course has only some smaller puddles in places. Those will likely be gone by Sunday morning.
Forecast temps are for 70 on race day.
The course is loosely marked and over 8 miles long. Tight barkbuster sections, open wooded sections, rocky sections, and even some dirt showing up on the course! There are 4 passing lanes so far and one is actually about .2 miles long and out of sight of the other. That will be interesting to say the least. Other passing lanes are much shorter and have the other rider in sight the entire time. These things are great if you are in a line and cant seem to find a place to pass. They are also great when lapping people as it lets both of you keep racing at YOUR full speed.
This is a one race event. PW's practice at 8:30. This place is rocky so the PW course is a little harder than most. Keep that in mind when you are deciding if your PW is racing. They have made it just fine in years past but the tiny ones do have more work than usual. PW's race at 9:00. Big bikes sign up at 9:00 and practice starts at 9:30. Rider's meeting at 11:40 along with PW trophies unless we determine a way to get them out sooner. IF you only came for the PW race, someone will get you a trophy so you can get going. Main race starts at 12:00.
The owner of the land will have a concession so bring a few extra dollars for some food.
That is all I can think of. If I get the chance, I will post again tomorrow night. IF not, this is enough to chew on.
Walter's has almost no mobile signal. Mike is trying out a new GIZMO that boosts signal for all carriers. His AT&T has full signal. The "hot spot" is near his camper. I dont know what the range is or how many phones it takes to pull the signal down or if that is even a possibility. IF this thing works well, FMHSC might buy one and have it functioning near sign up at other events.
This is the ideal circumstances for a race weekend so dont pass this one up!
