Got out in third on the start, made a pass on second, and got hung up on a tree. Then...almost the whole class went past me. Turned it up, to try and catch the leaders, made a few passes, when a rock had other things in mind. Took a very hard hit. After that it was all down hill. Bike wouldnt go! It ended up with a log between the front spokes. Took me forever to figure that out. thought about retiring after that root to the hip, but just cruised the rest hate to be a quiter, overall I would say....
Fun course, a lot of cool rocky climbs, and log crossings.

Gnarly...dude...gnarly...
Look it up. I looked up the word in my old hard backed dictionary and it said - Gnarly, see Camp Galilee...

Day one was tough. Did I say tough? I meant to say brutal! Did two laps and the rocks took me out. In the seniors a good portion of our guys are smarter than we look as some of us opted out of the punishment so we could live to fight another day!

I am right there with ya, Dennis. Self preservation kicked in for me. (I also didn't want to have to buy a bunch of new parts for a new bike. LOL)
