Do most guys run a Steering Damper???
Does a 13 year old, racing the 900 class really need a Steering Damper? He's on a KTM 150 XC, switching from MX to Woods riding (for first time). Has been off racing for 2 years, so won't be going that fast for a while.
So my main ? would be, Would it help with his confidence in the woods
(got a flywheel weight on the other day and i think that helped)

Instead of a steering damper you may want to consider having the forks revalved. A number of the hillbilly crowd and I'm sure there are a few forward motion riders that would recommend Terry Brumley of TBT Suspension. He is located near Springfield MO give him a call (417 844-86zerozero) or send him an e-mail at tswelding@aol.com.

Re: Steering Damper ???
On the newer ktms you really shouldn't need one. Get the suspension redone for his weight and Speed and set 4" of sag on the rear shock will keep the bike wanting to track straight. I run the 200 class and never run one in the forward motion just the hillbillys because the are quiete a bit rockier. But if it helps his confidence. Confidence goes along way
