Knobbies vs Trials tires

#1 Post by Tank » Fri Jun 21, 2013 12:16 pm

Has anyone really experimented with trials tires in Hare scrambles races vs Knobbies. I have been hearing lots of good things about Competition trials doing a great job on hare scrambles with harder surfaces and rocks. :?:

The trials tires work well on the rocks..... I have rode a trials tire in Washington and done well, even if the rocks are wet. The wet clay is a different matter. I don't like the trials tire on clay, dust, or any kind of dirt trail. So I would stay with the knobbie for FMHSC races. It would be nice to hear an opinion from the front rows..... I am interested in what they think also! my 2 cents for free

I have ran both I like the trials tire for places like Walters ranch and Collins but any of the other places we race I would go with a knobby. It is a lot harder to brake with a trials tire and with as fast as our courses are other than those two they take away more than they help in my opinion

Nice to hear from someone in the first couple of rows and also from someone in the same row. Guess I will stay with the Knobbies I have on there. Looking forward to Drexel, my first race.
