what you need to know about Virgil City (Camp Mo-Po)

Camp Mo Po is one of the tougher tracks we run. However, we have routed around the mud hole from last year and there is a new line above the rock cliffs that will make the course faster and much more rider-friendly. There is also a new A-B route if you do not want to take the steep hill toward the end of the circuit. Camp Mo Po has very sandy soil, so we should not have a rainout - we're keeping our fingers crossed. The start will be in the back 40 near the pond, and you're welcome to park in the back field if you want to be near it. The scoring will be in the same place as the first year.

We are proud that FMHSC has chosen Drumm Farm Center for Children (Drummforkids.org) to be the official charity. In the past two races, Drumm Farm Center for Children has received $18,000 from the promoters and concession proceeds, which is due to the generosity of the FMHSC family. Please visit the concessions and get a burger or dog, or just say hi to the fine folks that serve the foster kids and foster families on their campus.

There is plenty of area for camping, and you are welcome to come out Saturday. The trails will be open for riding until 6pm, but there will be no EMT on sight. Helmets are mandatory. If you do ride Saturday, please make a donation to Drumm Farm at some point during the weekend.

Thanks to Dave Rodgers # 1031and Jeff Schendel # 1001 we will have EMT available if needed Saturday. For anyone worried about it being too wet, Camp MoPo soaks up water like a sponge If it stops raining by next Wednesday, we are going to have perfect conditions, and according to early weather reports, we are looking at the sun returning Thursday-Sunday. Come out and enjoy the contryside and warm weather!

Forecast looks perfect. Should be a great weekend. I'm guessing the course will be in awesome shape!

I plan to take advantage of the Saturday afternoon ride opportunity and get some extra course knowledge. I will also be bringing extra Dog and Burger buns along with my Back Yard party grill to help out with concessions.

I sure hope we have a great turn out. We were working on the course a couple of weekends ago and it is shaping up real well. Running it the same direction we did 2 years ago and it flows great. The dirt should be PERFECT!

Hey Everybody! Just thought I would take a moment and point out the obvious.

The Sun is shining, the rain has stopped and the forecast for Virgil City this weekend is PERFECT conditions! As ole' Shredder would say, this weekend should EPIC!

Let's make sure we have a great turn out. Remember, besides being an awesome hare scramble course and a super fun place to ride, all proceeds from the event are donated to the Drumm Farm For Kids! http://www.drummforkids.org/. There should be plenty of concessions so leave the P,B and J snadwiches at home and come out Salurday for open ride and Sunday's race. I think there is a $10.00 donation to Drumm Farm for the open ride.

77 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday. Yee Haw! I guess you could stay home and do yard work!
