Virgil city was great, my apologies to the riders that I made contact with. Keep it shinny side up!

Virgil City what can you say, really only two things come to mind: “Glad that’s not me. (GTNM)” “Can’t believe I made it. (CBIMI)”. Realize during this race report that most of the facts will be off: like laps, miles and actual events.

Lap One, Got an average start for me, not good not bad, feeling good just training along, starting to lose ground maybe two miles in. Came across the first casualty it was 1010 Bill looked like he got thrown on one of those rocky downhill’s, asked him if he was ok, of course he said yes. Sorry Bill but I was thinking GTNM. Took loop B up the rock wall CBIMI. That XX tree really work well for me, I made two passes on the right side, the little branches looked bad but you could bust right through them. 9th place.

Lap Two, road by myself, Got a little cocky on rocky loop B and looped out. Thanks to the Kid and Lady that helped me get my bike up, I’m sure they were thinking GTNM. Some guy was really stuck on the inside line of that culvert think it was a Honda all I could think was GTNM. 9th place.

Lap Three, Bill caught and passed me I think it was that pre-race snickers bar that I noticed him eating. If you read this Bill, thank your wife for keeping score for me, so I could prep for the Vet race. Latched on to Bill and got around him for about a second I blasted through one of the larger mud puddles it was awesome CBIMI. 9th place.

Lap Four, now your thinking I hope this is this clowns last lap and it is. I had my eye the whole race on that rocky stream, I wondered how it would feel to lie down in it? 10th place. Shoulda Wooda Coulda.

Thanks so much for the folks that put the hard work into these events.

On a side note, heard the guy in the office next to me say he was sore from weed eating his lawn Sunday GTNM!!!

Brother David Bailey #302 lost his GoPro. If anyone finds it. Would like it back. Thanks.

That was a really fun course, but WOW, am I feeling it today! Was able to hold 3rd through 4 laps. My transponder wasn't registering so I had to stop and ask Gibbs where I was after every lap. He just kept yelling at me to "go,go,go" LOL. After the 4th lap there was no way I was going to ride a 5th. Came through scoring and still had 3 minutes or so until the cutoff  . I was ready to quit but 4 or 5 people were yelling "come on man, 1 more lap, finish strong!" I had nothing left in me but.....on to lap 5 I went. At that point, I was just along for the ride, holding on for dear life. That 5th lap was brutal....not even sure how many times I just had to pull over and catch my breath. I was honestly doing everything I could to just hang on and not get hurt. Gave up 2 spots on that lap but still finished in 5th. That's 2 races in a row where fatigue cost me multiple spots on the last lap. Getting old sucks! Long drive from Lawrence but man that was fun!

You rode a great race Trent. Sometimes that last lap can make all the difference. Looks like the Husky is working out for you. Great Job! 8)

It was fun doing scoring and cheering all you guys on. Chuck #1099 was on rails and our Ole' Pal Stickney #1049 made a big splash coming in 6th. Way to go buddy. Top 10 with hardly any seat time. Now we just gotta get you back in the saddle instead of working all the time!!!

We should all give it up for Shane Weimer too. 6th in the 500's. I guess he had a pretty good race with Mark Shafer. That ain't nothin' to sneeze at.

Well, it was just an awessome weekend and race. I will finish my report in the 700 club post.

See you guys at the 9 hour next week! :D
