Hey All,
Saw Burd Dawg tonight before he is shipped off to Lincoln Nebraska tomorrow morning. He is looking better and constantly squirming around. I'm sure he is uncomfortable in his own skin right now. At the rehab center I hear they will start reducing the medications and hopefully they will get a much better idea of his memory and regular brain functions, etc. Think the drugs are masking some of the improvement since the accident. All in all, he is looking good and is still talking about riding non stop...
B-Dawg (and his family) are ALL FIGHT and NO quit!

B-Dawg family. Below is a race report from one of the riders in Bens class (WireFryer). Print and save this one for Ben as he will love to read it later. He will understand it when he reads it...

We ain't had any rain to speak off for almost a month down here, so it was a dust bowl. My pre-race, freshly cleaned air filter, probably looks like a Chia' pet right now.
Got there way early and attempted to set my new bar-mounted timer. The timer won after 4 rounds .
Sign up was not, ...what we're used to.
Parade lap and hot lap, for quads, bikes, and Juniors. Practice showed us that flat track skills would come in handy.
We are told that bikes run first, so we all pile in on the start area and noone has a chome-plated clue as to the row order.
With the aid of a bullhorn and several helpers we get lined up. 1-2-3-4 Experts are in the first row, all 4 of them, Adrian included. 30vet and 40vet are next. (yes, I'm setting you up for something )
The start is supposed to be live-engine/ straddle your front fender. After some intense startline negotiations it quickly becomes live engine/clutch hand on helmet.
I, and the 2 guys next to me pull the holeshot move of the season!! Too bad we left with the 4 Pros .
I blame the 688 sticker on my front fender!!! Ya' woulda' been proud Ben! I did the Queen wave all the way back to the Vet class line that was laughing their collective asses off .
We get back in line and boom! Yank the flag, and it's party time!
It would be get-you-dead-fast dusty, but with the lack of trees and rock bluffs to hit, your memory kicked in and you hit turns you couldn't see with a bit of confidence.
Running the flattrack was a hoot. Amazing how old habits made new can re-energize a person. It was my personal favorite section of the whole place, hung with 450's on the frontstetch .
The chubby on that section went away about midrace, rubber down on the hardpack made it a real gamble to attack. I backed off on it when I got the back end into the marbles and saw an old friend,.... the wall
The wall costs alot of money, one way or another.
Only stopped once for about 20-30 seconds, throttle side arm was PO'd and I needed to yank up my arm guards anyway.
Waited for the results (2+hrs) with Donnie, OnTheRocks, FirePiper, MoHawk?, and Adrian. Who was that FM 1100 class guy that haunted Loren?
Bottom line. OnTheRocks, Adrian, and Nick took home turkeys. Third all around.
Donnie, Bugler, Firepiper and Wirefryer went home emptyhanded, unless they ran over a deer on the way back to the homestead .
NOTEABLY ABSENT!!! Buck called in an excusable, AND was on the phone when I got home and unloading, wanting to know how all the FM'rs finished , but where was Vetski and the BennyD of Newton???

Turkey Run with baddawg on board
Well Ben must have called out from his bed "I gonna come in third in the open class" cuz thats what WE did. Ben and I recovered from a stalled engine on the start (oops) and a 1st lap drop of the bike to finish with 12 laps and take the third position.
It was a DUSTY one. There were times when we hit jumps with just a vague notion of where they were and there were times when your bike would bobble and you would wonder about just how close you just came to wiping out! But with Bens help we pulled through and after our starting woes and bike drop we never looked back and took no prisoners. We got faster as the race progressed and we werent even tired when it was over.

I stopped by today and saw Ben, he was sleeping pretty good so we let him get his rest.
Jane is a strong and dedicated mother, she is AWSOME. She has my cell # and can call anytime she wants or needs anything. I will stop by as much as possible and give my own updates.
We will see if we can make her stay in Lincoln as good as possible.

Ben will be making a trip to Chadwick the day after thanksgiving. The whole crew has Bens # plate plastered all over everything including fenders, helmets, and chest protectors. Making the one day trip to get back in time to watch the chiefs roll over the raiders. Happy Thanksgiving to Ben and the whole Burdick family. Chad Nash #302

Hi guys. I wanted to thank Chad (mx920cj) and his brother and Wade (KTMWade) and his family for taking my kids to get a Christmas Tree. It was a tradition we have done the day after Thanksgiving every year.....this year we were just missing Dad. It was good for the kids, and even though this is a really hard time right now I guess I'm thankful that the kids are here to push me into doing stuff that I don't quite feel up to. Gotta keep it semi-normal around here. They had a blast helping decorate it and I took a picture that I'm going to try to post......we'll see if it works. Thanks again
