El Dorado Springs race October 7th AND October 6th!!!!!!!
For a very long time I have considered having two races in one weekend. I think it would save folks money by being able to travel only once and race twice. The time has come to give it a try. The schedule has El Dorado Springs, MO on October 7th. Well now we are having a points race on October 6th also. For now the plan is to stick to our regular split schedule for both days. If I thought it would help somehow, the Saturday schedule could run slightly later.
This will make up the missing race and put us back at 15 scores. I feel two races in one weekend is still less than a typical enduro so this is very doable. My thinking for choosing this location is that it is a Church camp and they have a great set up with rental cabins, RV hook ups, a pavilion, shower houses, and one of the most vast concessions you can imagine. I hope this will be more like an FMHSC family reunion that Saturday night. I will check to see if they will run concession into the evening to make it easier on all of us “happy campers”
I have a grand plan of running the course backwards the second day. This will mean I either have to set it up with two color arrows and have both done in advance or I am leaning towards just flipping it after the race on Saturday. This is a good chance to get your work day average in if you are hesitant about racing two days in a row. I really will need some help to get this all done. I plan to set up on Thursday and on Friday if anyone wants to help. I have only a few spots available for set up and six spots open for race day workers on Saturday/Sunday.
If nothing else, this should liven up the message board!

Maybe next year we should consider running 20 races. Racing use to be fun but personally this is becoming ridiculous. How bout a christmas race also. Not trying to upset anyone but where does it stop?

let's do it! Usually the day after a race I can barely move. I think I want to know how I would feel after 2 races in 2 days.

Ditto that Joe! I'm in too! Just so I can see if I can hold up after a second day of racing! Bring it on!
If one is a make up race and one is the scheduled race I'm guessin that there BOTH for points. I gotta do both as I've got more than a few racers breathing down my neck for that #2 seniors spot...ya know?

I think it's an awesome idea! I wouldn't be able to race on Saturday due to our kids' football & soccer games but if it wasn't for that, we'd make a weekend of it! And yes, I can't imagine how I'd do that 2nd day. I'm sure it wouldn't be pretty...
Just wanted to show my support for this such a thing in the future.

I'm damn near an invalid the next day after a single race. if I did two races back to back, after the 2nd race, I'd probably just go out back behind the shed and put myself down. I'd feel better I'm sure. I think a 2 race weekend would call for some hot umbrella girls for any Seniors 55 years of age or older.........

While at first glance this sounds good....I think the age needs to be lowered.I think a 2 race weekend would call for some hot umbrella girls for any Seniors 55 years of age or older.........
